Four Public Libraries in Imperial County will be closing as a result of California's troubled economy. Residents in Seeley , Heber, Niland, and Westmorland will be losing their libraries. Four out of five county supervisors voted on closing the libraries because their is not enough funding and because there is a low number of people that use them. Connie Barrington , Imperial County's librarian, says looking at library usage in rural areas gives bigger cities an unfair advantage because the population is greater. She adds that residents in rural resort areas depend on their library as a source of information.
